This is the entrance to Spanish Water, Curaçao where we were docked for a few days. The permanent crew was busy provisioning for a trans Pacific voyage. We joined as deck hands to help deliver the boat to Panamá.
I missed the convergence of the sun meeting Table Mountain (Tafelberg) on the neighboring island of Curacao six months ago. Then the sun was trekking south. No problem. I would wait until the late winter when it would pass again. Then recently five days of late day clouds came in, obscuring the horizon. Problem.
But tonight the skies have cleared. I got the alignment and shot I wanted. I won’t have another opportunity until next autumn.
